Spring NEWS

Over the last few months we have been SUPER busy and are pleased to be able to share the news that we have a new person joining our team. More on that soon…

First of all and very excitingly, our very own Jeff has been made a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. This is big news and we are very proud of him! It’s also a bit special because most Fellows are academics from across the social sciences (and all over the world); only very few are practitioners like Jeff. Fellows are recognised after an extensive peer review process for the excellence and impact of their work through the use of social science for public benefit.

Jeff and Cleo Newcombe-Jones (a key member of our team and consultant to Place) have been working hard with communities on their Neighbourhood Plans, in particular in Stroud and Herefordshire (beautiful Ross-on-Wye) along with Wiltshire where has delivered a series of training sessions for communities about all aspects of neighbourhood planning. Its a lovely time of year for getting out and stuck into neighbourhood planning,

We are also working on some really interesting public realm projects in Bath, with Vaughan leading on our work in that beautiful, historic city. Most recently DEFRA has highlighted the Rossiter Road and Widcombe Parade scheme (pictured), that Place worked on in 2015, in a national report as an examplar of best practice in street design to reduce local nitrogen dioxide levels in a national report.
