Midsomer Norton: Wayfinding

We were appointed by B&NES Council and Midsomer Norton Town Council appointed us to design and implement a bespoke wayfinding system to revitalise the town centre and Town Park.

Working with community stakeholders, Ward Councillors, and Highways officers, we developed a system that respects the town’s historic context while fixing modern legibility issues. Our role included:

  • Designing bespoke information points with a focus on accessibility.

  • Coordinating public consultation to refine design options.

  • Negotiating viable locations with the highway authority.

  • Managing procurement and installation specifications.

The wayfinding system connects the High Street’s retail and heritage heart to its leisure spaces and transport links. By integrating existing infrastructure with fresh, clear signage, we’ve made the town centre easier to navigate for residents and Somer Valley visitors alike.
